So on Friday, I watched the Tribeca Film Festival movie Bare directed by Natalia Leite, produced by Alexandra Roxo, and starring Dianna Agron and Paz de la Huerta. I've watched this film four times so far...it is absolutely incredible. The aesthetics, the imagery, the acting, the story - everything about it is flawless.
The movie follows Sarah Barton, a melancholy small-town homebody and Pepper, a drug dealing drifter and the way their friendship turns into a romance as Pepper lures Sarah into a dangerous world.
The style alone in this movie is absolutely incredible - so let's just jump right into it.
Sarah Barton - Sarah's style is floral, flowy, and she is rarely ever seen without a hoodie. Since she rides her bike most places throughout the film, she mostly wears tennis shoes and is always carrying a backpack.
When Sarah becomes Sahara (her stripper persona) her style becomes more vibrant and risqué - think Halsey in the ghost video. A lot of blues, turquoises, pinks, mesh, and fishnet.
Pepper - We aren't given much information on Pepper throughout the film, although she is a main character, you don't learn her last name in the entire movie. She dresses mostly in denim. All of her clothes are slouchy and comfortable, so she can be able to sleep in them as well.
When she is going out to party, gamble, or deal, she wears bright lipstick paired with slinky black dresses. Her style is the more sultry of the two.
This movie is absolutely fantastic, my favorite that I've ever seen. It's available to stream on Netflix, and it's a must watch in my opinion.
